The shortened period of training faculty of the Karaganda State Technical University was formed in 1996.
The shortened period of training faculty puts the overall objective granting an opportunity for the graduates of colleges, technical schools and others secondary vocational educational institutions to receive a second higher vocational training on related specialities by the reduced education programs with three-year term of training. The programs by which the students of the shortened period of training faculty are trained, are possibly close to the international standards.
In the educational process of the shortened period of training faculty all the graduating faculties of the university, in which structure there are more than 30 professors, doctors of sciences and more than 200 senior lecturers, candidates of sciences are involved practically.
All the students of the shortened period of training faculty are trained on a paid base with the full indemnification of expenses for training.
Today of 51 KSTU specialities of the shortened period of training faculty 15 specialities lecture «Architecture », «Economy and management at the enterprise», «Standardization and certification», «Applied ecology», «Open-cast mining of deposits of minerals», «Underground mining of deposits of minerals», «Electrosupply», «Hoisting-and-transport, building, road machines and the equipment», «Automobiles and an automobile facilities», «Organization of traffic», «Electric drive and automation of technological complexes», «Automation of technological processes and manufactures», «Computer systems of processing of information and management», «Industrial both civil construction and municipal economy», «Manufacture of building materials, products and designs».
Scientific-and-research work of the students is carried out at the graduating faculties according to the plans developed. The results of scientific-and-research work are reflected in course and degree projects. The students make scientific reports at the students’ scientific and technical conferences held in the KSTU and at republican competitions.
