The University is headed by the rector together with vice-rectors, deans, heads of services and departments, trade-union committee of the teachers and workers, the students’ trade union.
The main administrative body is an Academic Board, the chairman of which is rector. Under its leadership there work a Scientific-and-Engineering Board and a Board on engineering education humanitarization.
Under the rector’s leadership there work the heads of all-university services; accountants’ office, personnel department, marketing group, military-and-mobilization department, the head of the sports-and-health camp, deans, heads of chairs.
The educational, scientific-and-research, teaching-and-methodic, training, administrative activity is headed by the first vice-rector, vice-rector on scientific work and international ties, vice-rector on teaching-and-methodic work, vice-rector on training work, vice-rector on administrative-and-economics work.
Aristotel Z. Isagulov is the first vice-rector, a Dr of Engineering Sciences, a professor, an Academician of the MSA, a corresponding member of the RK SA (March 2004).
The first vice-rector coordinates and leads the teaching work of the faculties, chairs, teaching-and-methodic department, practice department, library, museum, standartization study, editors of the newspaper “For polytechnic knowledge”, training TV, educational-and-production workshops, archive, clerks’ office, information-and-computer centre. The first vice-rector is the chairman of the Teaching-and-methodic Board, Council on training in the state language, Economic Council, Council on computerizing, coordinating and controlling the work of the faculties and chairs, corresponding specialists training directions.
The first vice-rector realizes introducing typical teaching plans and programs, working out teaching plans and programs in specialties disciplines including those in the state language, provides the introduction of new teaching forms and students’ knowledge control, development of the international ties in training the teaching-and-scientific personnel, work with students, controls the educational and production practice, controls the implementation of the Academic Board decisions.
Azimbek K. Akimbekov is the vice-rector on scientific work and international ties, a Dr. of engineering sciences, a professor (from 2001 to now).
He must coordinate and control the scientific activities of the University and is the head of the Scientific-and-engineering Board.
At the University there work Dissertation Councils giving scientific masters’ and doctors’ degrees, passed by the RK HAC. The organizing role in the work of Dissertation Boards is given to the vice-rector on scientific work and international ties.
The vice-rector on scientific work heads the activity of the institutes, branch and problem laboratories, scientific-and-research activity of the faculties, chairs, postgraduates’ department, patents-and-licenses department, Centre on machine-building forecast, keeps international ties with institutes and scientific centres of the far and near abroad. The operative control of the scientific-and-research activities of the University is realized by the scientific-and-research department.
Yury N. Pak is the voce-rector on teaching-and-methodic work, a Dr.of engineering sciences, a professor (1994 till now).
He coordinates and controls the activity of the teaching-and-methodic department, prepares offers to improve its work with the aim of improving the training quality, coordinates and works out educational standards of higher education, typical teaching plans and programs in all the training directions, coordinates the work of expertise and giving reports in opening new specialties in the RK institutes, controls and supervises the work of the editing-and-publishing department, printing workshop, civil defence headquarters.
Baurzhan Z. Khamimolda is the vice-rector on educational work, a Dr. of engineering sciences (2002 till now).
He organizes educational work in students’ groups, propagates healthy life, provides conditions for organization of students’ living and rest, including those living in the hostel, of teachers and workers, organizes and controls holding theoretic and practice conferences on educational work, organizes students’ and teachers’ participation in all-city and university events to support order, territory improvement.
Yury A. Nikonov, the vice-rector on administrative-and-economics work (1987-1992, 1998-till now).
He realizes general leadership of the administrative departments work, provides safety, sanitary-hygienic and correct condition of the material-and-technical base, capital and current repair of the teaching buildings, classes, hostel, administrative and living objects, rest zone, green plants, realizes preparing classes and hostel for new academic years.
